Deal 5 cards to each player

Before the first round begins, players will shuffle all Letter Cards, Black Cards and Special Cards together. Then, each player receives 5 cards. To determine who starts the game, each player will draw a new Letter Card from the box. The player with the letter closest to the letter “A” will start the first round. More in the chapter …

Start the round by drawing a card and reading a question

At the beginning of each new round, before reading a question, the player will draw a new card from the box. Then, they choose a card in their hand and read aloud the question and the four possible A-B-C-D answers, without disclosing the correct answer. More in the chapter …

Choosing the right answer

The other players will each use their four Answer Cards to choose the option they think is correct (A, B, C, or D). After all players place their answer choice cards face down on the table, the correct answer is revealed. More in the chapter …

Collecting the cards

After revealing and comparing the answers, each player who answered correctly will collect

new cards from the box, depending on the score of the card read. Players who answered incorrectly will not collect anything this round. If no one answered correctly, the player who read the question will collect the cards for the round. More in the chapter …

Word-building & scoring

The player who read the question can start building as many words and Word Colonies as they want, expand or conquer words, develop Supercolonies, and initiate Decolonizations. They earn points based on the score of all Letter/Black Cards used in building words, advancing their pawn on the scoreboard. Building Word Colonies & developing Supercolonies

A word built perpendicular to another existing word will form a Word Colony. A Word Colony consists of at least 2 overlapping words. The new word will be built starting with the last letter of the existing word.  More in the chapter …

Colonies containing 5+ words can be developed into Supercolonies. Players can create as many words and Colonies as they want on their turn and will announce when they have managed to develop a Supercolony of five or more words, earning them an additional 5 points. More in the chapter …

Initiating Decolonizations

When players develop a Supercolony of 10 or more words, they can Decolonise. This will double the score of your first word built in that Supercolony. They will keep only the last word on the table and gather the rest into a common pile, still owned by the player but unable to be reused in this game. More in the chapter…

End of Round

After they finish building and collecting their points, the next round begins, with play moving clockwise as the next player draws a card and selects a question of their own to read. More in the chapter …
